We regularly accept credit card or airline points to help cover the cost of our participant's flights to their trek destinations. Because it is not possible to donate points directly to True North Treks, those who wish to give points must first pledge a point amount (must be enough to cover at least 1 flight) and at the time of booking the flight, the donor must actually purchase the flight on behalf of the participant. We will supply the donor with all necessary information and flight/schedule preferences, and ask that a True North Treks representative be added to the reservation notifications to stay abreast of any changes.

If you are interested in making a donation of credit card or airline points, please contact us with the amount of points you would like to pledge and the name of the credit card or airline rewards program. Because True North Treks is a Section 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, your points donation may qualify as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes for the value of the purchased flight. Following payment of the flight using your points, you will be provided with a thank you letter and acknowledgement from True North Treks, including the cost of the flight. It is a good idea to consult with a tax adviser or the IRS to determine whether your contribution is indeed deductible.
